PERCEPTION VERSUS REALITY
This is a youths talk started by Living Up Kenya aimed at bringing together the youths discussing their perception of life after school and the reality they are now in same situation Rehema Madzumba(founder & CEO,Living up Kenya) faced two years ago. The talk is anchored on popular song “SOMA SOMA KIJANA” a narrative very popular in the late 80s and early 90s that has since terribly failed to work. Today most youths have embraced education in higher institutions but jobless at home and more shocking is the fact that even people with technical courses like Engineering and Medicine are in the bracket.
Perception versus reality talk therefore aims to bring back hope to the hopeless youths by bringing fellow youths who had beaten all odds to make it in life more so in self-employment.
The talk also involves the discussing about opportunities presented to the youths, creativity and innovation without forgetting the crucial role played by social media in all our aspects of life today.
